Pine River Area Schools will have a zero mill increase bond proposal on the August 6th ballot. The primary purpose for this bond is to replace the broken wastewater / septic system at the middle/high school building complex. The system still works but we don't know how long it will continue working, so it is imperative to replace it before it quits working. No septic = No School! This zero mill increase bond means that the current school millage rate will stay the same. The tax rate will not increase from the current levy with the passage of this bond. Previous bond funding added a fence and service road to the wastewater / septic lagoon. Now we must replace it to continue operations at the middle/high school building complex. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you!

Congratulations and GOOD LUCK to our Buck of the week Madelynne Sterly.

Congratulations to the baseball team that advanced to the District Semi Finals with a win over Harrison. A special congratulations to Head Coach Shawn Ruppert who recorded his 700th win in the process! In true Coach Ruppert fashion he mentioned it to no one and I'm sure was hoping to keep it quiet.
We are fortunate to have the incredible consistency and experience that Coach Ruppert has established with our program.

Be sure to get your incoming youth athletes registered for the PR camps taking place this summer. Basketball, Football, Track, Wrestling, and Volleyball will all host developmental clinics for a low cost to students entering grades 8 and Under.

Attn: Pine River Students and Families! Lincoln Township and other Townships in our school district are in need of election workers this summer. August 6th is at least one day they need workers. Lincoln Township pays $20 per hour for election workers. Some other Townships pay differently. Please contact your local Township Office if you are interested in working an election. 16 and 17 year old students are also eligible to work on election days too! This would be a great opportunity for our youth to learn more about our elections. Also, early voting is available 9 days before election day. Plus absentee voting will be available in late June. Always remember to vote! The main goal of our Pine River Schools Bond on August 6th is to replace our broken septic / wastewater lagoon system. This bond will keep your school millage tax rate the same and will give us the funding to replace our system for the long term continuation of our school system. Thank you!

Our Pine River Area Schools website is now updated with Bond Information for the August 6, 2024 election date. Here is the link to the website: https://www.pineriver.org/o/pras/page/bond.
This is a zero increase bond election, meaning that the school millage tax rate will stay the same. The main purpose of this bond is to replace our 1960's wastewater / septic lagoon system which is broken but still functioning. If it quits working, we can't have any school or sports on site, so it is very important to replace this for the long term. Other bond funds will also be used to finish the HVAC upgrades, security upgrades and instructional technology for students and instructional staff. Mark your calendars now to vote by August 6th!

Congratulations to our MHSAA D3 State Qualifier Madelynne Sterly! She punched her ticket with a vault of 8'9" today.
