This week is America's Safe Schools Week! So each day I want to focus on a different aspect of school safety. Each year we are required to perform a variety of drills to prepare ourselves for events we hope will never happen and we are required to report our drills to the Michigan Department of Education. Those drills include fire drills, tornado drills, and lockdown drills. We take them very seriously because our students are our priority and future! Go Bucks!

Congratulations to the boys XC team on their Highland Conference CHAMPIONSHIP!! 6 of the top 9 runners were our Bucks, what a TEAM effort!!

#EveryDayCounts! Students who miss school, miss out!
Did you know… Missing just 2 days of school a month hurts learning, lowers grades & decreases your student’s chances of earning a diploma. #StriveforLessThan5 #Schooleveryday #StriveforLessThan5 days absent this school year!

This week is America's Safe Schools Week. So each day I want to share a quick bit of information on how we all work together for school safety. In the fall of 2022, we had our state security assessment completed. Since then, we are working behind the scenes to improve safety even more. Additional security cameras, doors and hand radios are just some of the ways we are working to improve school safety. Our students are our priority and future! Go Bucks!

Yesterday was the beginning of America's Safe Schools Week and so I want to thank our School Resource Officer (SRO) Shane Helmer for everything he does to support our students! Thank you Officer Helmer!!

Congratulations to Avrie Verdi, our Buck of the Week!

Suicide Awareness and Prevention for Caregivers and Communities

One, Two, Three, Four… we declare a COIN WAR!
Coin Wars for Christmas
Jars for each grade level, 8th-12th, will be set up in the HS hallway before school and during PT conferences. Coins add points, bills subtract points, and rolled coins count as double points! All money raised will be used for the Adopt-A-Family Christmas Project. The winning grade will receive a prize. Be strategic in helping your grade earn points while keeping the other grades from winning! Let’s all work to make the holidays better for those in our communities that need some help.

NHS will be sponsoring a Cancer Patient Care Drive October 16th-20th. A table for donations will be set up before school each of the five days in the high school, or items may be dropped off in the HS office anytime during that week. Please check the attached flyer for appropriate items to donate to help the patients and their families undergoing treatments.
