As a reminder, Friday, Feb 5th, is our last traditional snow day (#6) that has been noted in weekly newsletters and communicated to students by staff. No on-line meets or work is expected to be completed for students. Thank you

Due to an increase in COVID-19-related absences and the resultant lack of staff available to teach in our middle school, on Monday, February 8, the middle school (grades 4-7) will continue the Intermittent Learning schedule they have been following this week. The high school (grades 8-12) will return to face-to-face instruction on Monday.
To recap: Grades 4-7 will not be in school on Monday, February 8. Grades K-3 and 8-12 will be in school. Parents and students, please plan accordingly.

7th graders have been busy learning about the ancient civilization of

Good Morning Middle School Buck Virtual Students!! Middle School Buck Virtual is live! Students in the 6th and 7th Grades received an email from Mrs. Adema with directions yesterday. For the 4th & 5th Graders, Mrs. Smith is reaching out! Thank you for choosing Buck Virtual and we look forward to making this year great along side of you!

ATTN MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILIES:
We were SO happy to have our face-to-face Middle Bucks back with us and can't wait to connect with our virtual Bucks! Everyone did an outstanding job with all of the new guidelines and procedures in place, we couldn't be more PRoud!
Just a couple reminders as we continue to move forward with face-to-face instruction:
It was hot, and we will continue to have periods of heat: Please send your student with a water bottle! Our drinking fountains are set up to fill water bottles, but the actual fountains are turned off.
Masks are required for all students in any common area. The students did a great job with this part today. Please take a moment to tell them good job and remind them how much we appreciate their efforts.
When students get dropped off prior to 7:45 AM, they are to go to the library until 7:45. At that point, the 4th & 5th graders will head outside until 8:05. The 6th graders will go to the cafeteria. The 7th graders will go to the MS Gym.
Thank you for your continued support, we couldn't do it without you!
-Mrs. Adema & Mr. Wagatha

Please check out the welcome back video for 8th-12th grade students. We can’t wait to see you all!!!

PowerSchool is back up and running properly for MS and HS students and parents to view schedules. There may be changes and adjustments to some schedules over the next couple days due to conflicts. Thanks for being patient while this issue was fixed!

There has been some issues with PowerSchool and at this point, it is not allowing schedules to be viewed by the public for both the middle and high schools. Administration is working to correct this issue, and will send an update when it is fixed. Thank you for your patience.

Chromebook pick up will not be held this year before school starts. Due to a nationwide shortage of Chromebooks and shipping issues, our order of new Chromebooks will not be in before school starts even though we placed that order before summer. Due to this, we ask that if you currently have an older Chromebook at home that could be used to bring it to school. If you do not have a device we will do our best to get one for you once school starts. If you turned your Chromebook in we will have it ready for you once school starts.

If you are an 8-12th grader and would like to add or drop a class please fill out the attached form.

An update for our Class of 2020:
(This was emailed to all seniors, but in case you missed it...)
Senior Communication Letter - March 31, 2020
Greetings Seniors:
This an update for SENIORS only. We all understand the stress of not knowing what may happen in your remaining time here at PR. However, please note we are working diligently to get as many answers as possible. Mrs. Curtis and I are reviewing the credits for the seniors. She will be obtaining the credit audits on Friday, April 3, 2020 and reviewing them this weekend. Between myself, Mrs. Curtis, Ms. Miltgen, and Mrs. Lockhart, we will be contacting those students who need to recover credits, complete an extra class for credit, or are possibly short on credits. If you are not sure if you fall into one of the above mentioned categories, email me and Mrs. Curtis. I am working with Mr. Rigling from CTC to address the credit situation for CTC. If Mrs. Curtis or I have not contacted you by early next week, it means you are in good standing to graduate on time. It is our intent to make sure all seniors graduate and move on with life. When we get more answers and a definitive timeline, we will communicate with more detail.
Scholarship applications are still being accepted. Please email Ms. Miltgen with any questions.
As of now, no decision has been made about prom or graduation. When we have a plan in place, we will let you know. At this moment, please continue to check your email regularly.
Please stay safe and take care of yourself.
Thanks,
Mr. Ruppert

Parents: please check your email for an important survey from Pine River Area Schools. Thank you!

We sure miss our students! Hope they enjoy watching this video from the PR Elementary Staff!

Awesome job by cast, crew, and Ms. Gardner on your performance this weekend. Cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next year.

Take a look at our Compliment Competition Winners from 4th grade! One student from each class was selected as the BEST in their class at giving compliments to other classmates. Kayson Stewart, Boon Wheeler, Lucy Tice were awarded with a stromboli from PIBS and powerade for lunch with Mr. Jackson!!!! Way to Be a BUCK and show your PRIDE, Middle Bucks!!💚🦌

What are you doing this weekend?
Hopefully, you are coming to see our awesome choir + a few others performing in the 2020 HS Musical - The Ever After!!
These students have been working hard since fall to prepare this hilarious continuation of classic fairytale stories. We will be addressing deep seeded issues, such as the feud between Cinderella and her "beauty-impaired" stepsisters and the Evil Queen's insecurity issues thanks to the Mirror Mirror on the Wall.
You won't want to miss it - family friendly, lots of good music and acting!
Showtimes are 2:00 & 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8th. Tickets are $6/adults & $3/students and can be purchased ahead of time from me or any choir member or purchased at the door.
Attached are a few pictures from rehearsal last night and a list of students, so you can see a little of what we're about!
Hope to see you there!

5th graders traveled to the GR Symphony on Friday where they learned about instruments, musicality and saw their art on display. A BIG thank you to our transportation, food service, 5th grade team and Ms. Tiyi and Mrs. McConnell for working together to bring this great opportunity to our students! 🦌💚

Congratulations to the 7th Grade, 8th Grade, and High School Band on an excellent showing at MSBOA District One Festival. The 7th graders showed tremendous growth and confidence for their first time out. We talked about how it is not so much the number they earn, but the growth they have experienced. And boy, has this group grown! They earned a 3 overall, which included a 2 in sight reading. Very proud of your progress and looking forward to see how far you go from here. The 8th graders came back after last year's 3, focused in and came away with a division 2, including a 1 in sight reading! Your growth and improvement over the last year is a great example to the younger students- great job! The HS Band played a great program, demonstrating musicality and technicality, earning a Division 1 and the right to head to State! Well done, everyone - Eyes With Pride

Due to continued deteriorating road conditions 4/5 Movie Night & 6-8th grade Dance is cancelled. Tentative reschedule date- March 17th. Please see weekly newsletters for more information.

What an INCREDIBLE Night to be a BUCK! Our first annual, “Building the Buckhood,” was a success! Thanks to all of the families that came out to show support. We had over 100 elementary students attend, and our very own 3rd graders did an excellent job singing the National Anthem. A BIG thanks to Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Dennis, Mrs. Powell, Mrs. Wagatha, and to the entire Varsity Boy’s Basketball Team for planning this night! PRoud!

Congratulations to the following high school students that earned honor roll for the first semester this year. We’re so proud of your hard work!
